What is SwiftLadies? How did I get here?

SwiftLadies is a global community of Lady Apple Developers. It began in Manila and hopefully, it will spread around the world.

Swift PH is a community of iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS developers in the Philippines. It started in July 2017 in Manila.

Without further ado, how did I get here? I joined the Swift PH (Manila, Philippines) Meetup group around September last year (2017). But I haven't attend any meetups since then due to my busy schedule. I just participated this January of 2018.

What motivated me to join this group is my desire to socialize with my co-developers, who love programming as much as I do. Also, I want to contribute something to the community. Let me quote something:

Learning is a never ending process. I want to be part of the community to learn and to share something even though I'm already a working professional. :)

From SwiftLadies Facebook page

I'm very happy that I became part of the 1st SwiftLadies meetup. It was my first time to speak in a public tech meet-up composed of around 30 people. I did learn from them and I do hope that they learned also from me.

Thank you so much! :)

How about you? Are you interested? Join the future meetups and see you there!

The Dessert Museum is a newly opened dessert-themed museum, which is composed of 8 mouthwatering rooms with sugar-filled happiness. You will surely feel like a kid while visiting the place. It was opened last February 10, 2018 and is located in S Maison (below Conrad Manila). Lo and behold, because you will feel very hungry and crave more for sweet desserts.

Are you ready???

A week after it was opened, we visited the museum. We chose the schedule around 8 pm - 10 pm. We booked it online and got an online price of Php 699.00 per person. If you prefer to walk-in, the price is higher, which costs Php 799.00. So I suggest to just book online to save more.

Tip: Although it's pretty late (8 pm - 10 pm), I prefer our schedule compared to others because we didn't feel any rush at all. The closing time was 10 pm and we had enough time to enjoy the place.

When we got there on our scheduled time, they looked for our tickets and we were given an electronic band to be used for claiming desserts. It was surrendered after we finished the tour.

We had a tour guide and she started the tour with a brief introduction about the place.

For our first destination, we entered this Donut room:

My first impression was there's a real dessert to eat every designated room. I was expecting a piece of donut 🍩 to eat. Haha! We just spent around 15 minutes hovering the place.

Disclaimer: Be careful with the donuts because they were made of wood. :)

After the Donut room, we transferred to the Marshmallow room.

Don't worry because this time, they gave us a big marshmallow for the dessert. It was dipped in a chocolate fountain. It was the first dessert that was offered in the museum.

After around 15 minutes, we were instructed to choose between two rooms. What would you choose? NAUGHTY or NICE room ???

It's funny that it was just separated by color but indeed a joined twin room. The room is called the Candy Crane room. Here's the glimpse of what inside:

For the Naughty room, there's a room of balls, hearts and kisses.

For the Nice room, there's a designated wall with words JUMP and FLY !!!

This time the dessert was a piece of macaroon. Just a piece of reminder that don't expect too much on the desserts, okay. The ratio is 1:1. So 1 piece of dessert per person.

The fourth room on the tour was Ice Cream room filled with balloons. I'm not sure on what to call this room, though. The room was filled with balloons but the dessert given was a popsicle of ice cream. Me and my sister both chose the avocado flavor.

I was a bit tired and exhausted so I just took a photo of my sister and didn't bother to have mine. 😅

The fifth room however was just a simple Bubble Gum room. There was no dessert provided on this room.

Gummy Bears room filled with balloons and balls can be seen from the sixth room. The dessert given were a few pieces of gummy bears.

After eating the colorful gummy bear candies, we went straight to Cotton Candy room. We were given a stick of cotton candy.

The eight and last room was Cake and Pop room. We were given a piece of chocolate filled with sprinkles.

To summarize our post-Valentine sister's bonding, we enjoyed the place. But here's a piece of advice that don't expect too much from this place just like what I did. 😅 It would be better if they provided free desserts per room (because some rooms don't have desserts).

For more information, just visit https://www.thedessertmuseum.com/.

Having a younger sister is a wonderful blessing. I can’t imagine myself living without her. She's my best friend and my life as well. As time passes by, I look back at all times we experienced together.

Twinning since we we're young. - 1996

Twinning until we reached our teenage years. - 2008

Sisters' bonding in Boracay. - 2009

The two of us have been intricately intertwined most of our lives.

But....

The most memorable experience that we'll never forget was...

We travelled to South Korea all by ourselves for a week ! 🎉🎉🎉

I kept my long-time promise to her (since high school years) and brought her to South Korea. 😁

For better or for worse, through joy and sorrow, we will stand by with each other. No matter how old she gets, she is still my little sister. 😁

A picture serves a memory that will last forever that's why I'm rooting for the new limited edition Oppo F5 Red.

With its A.I. beauty recognition technology, I'm pretty sure that our photos will stand out in the most natural way. #OPPOF5 #CaptureTheRealYou

Lucas' Papaw Ointment has been a rave for many celebrities such as Kim Chiu and Julia Baretto (to name a few). I just discovered it from their bag raid (Push.com.ph) with Darla Sauler.

***I'm actually fond of "What's in My Bag" articles and videos since 2011 and started from Cosmo Magazine online. 😅

Without further ado, this product was discovered by Dr. T.P. Lucas in 1906 because he believed that papaw was the finest natural medicine yet discovered.

Lucas' Papaw Ointment is a petroleum-based product that has antibacterial properties, which can be used to treat minor burns, cuts, insect bites and stings. You can also use it as a lip balm for your cracked lips.

I'm hesitant to purchase it from somewhere else but when I checked the product from BeautyMNL, I gave it a try. You can check out this link if you want to purchase from there.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.

I purchased the product yesterday (February 11, Sunday) and I got this product within 24 hours (February 12, Monday) !!! They do accept Cash-on-Delivery but they accept exact amount only and they don't carry a change (ever).

Overall, I love this product! I just used it now as my lip balm before I put my lipstick on.

How about you? Have you tried the product?

My vision is getting worse because of constant exposure to gadgets (computer and phone). I had 50/75 vision when I graduated college year 2012 until year 2016. I had my eye checked last February 2017 and I was shocked when I learned that my vision was not 50/75 anymore instead I have 100/100 vision! It's really shocking but I just accepted the fact. Imagine sitting in front of the computer and working for 8 hours or more. It's really given that I will have this grade.

I took prescription lenses from a certain optical clinic (I don't want to mention though) but unfortunately, it didn't last long. The frames got broken easily. For the record, this specs is my 4th eyeglasses for a span of one year. 😅

Without further ado, I decided to get a prescription eyewear last January 2018 from Sunnies Specs because I want to take care of my eyes. I got it from Alabang Town Center branch because it's near from my office.

All of the lenses are multicoated (anti-glare, anti-reflection, scratch-resistant, water-resistant and has UV protection) for the price of Php 1,999.00. But you can upgrade your lenses for a certain price. If you have constant exposure to gadgets, you can opt to upgrade it to Screen Safe. If you like to have a sleek and light lenses, you can opt to upgrade it to Ultrathin. If you want to have a double function (eyeglasses + sunglasses), you can choose to upgrade it to Sun Adaptive. If you want the frames to handle the strains, you can avail the High Impact.

What I love about Sunnies Specs is the eyewear styles are so trendy and very lightweight. They have different styles based on your face shape. How cool, right? I chose Reagan in Rose Gold because I have a square-shaped face.

To check out the best and right pair for your face, check out this link from Sunnies Specs - Facebook Account.

Having an eyewear without ruining your style is a must, right?

Update: As of August 2018, I'm still wearing the glasses and it's still in perfect condition. Hoping it will lasts for long. I will update you after a year. 😀

Update (11/17/2022): I have a new blog post regarding my new Sunnies Specs eyewear.
