I am Ulyssa Elaine - Travel, Food and Lifestyle Blogger

I just turned 25 years old today and I'm very happy with my achievements so far. As I look back to my previous travels, I noticed that I'm now a matured one. I can now plan on my own, and manage my finances well.

Seven years have passed since I turned 18 years old and it's still fresh on my memory. My 18th birthday was took place at Hong Kong last 2010. I didn't have a grand ball or ceremony on my debut because frankly, I don't have lots of friends. I can't even imagine how will I fill-up my 18 roses, candles, etc. Just to get things straight, I'm a kind person. Having a few friends doesn't mean that I'm not a friendly person. I really don't know why I only have a few friends. Maybe others thought that I'm such a boring, quiet person and not friendly at all. When I was still a student, I randomly go out with my best friends: Lourein and Gretzel. Most of the time, my daily routine was: home -> school -> home.

Moving forward, here are some of the details of my 6-Day Hong Kong Trip dated August 2010.

Note: I didn't have a good camera back then. So the photos were not that good.

August 23, 2010 - I headed to Hong Kong with my mom and my aunt. My sister wasn't with us. Her debut was took place at Singapore and Malaysia way back 2011.

HK International Airport
August 24, 2010 - My 18th birthday!!! We went to HK Disneyland for my birthday. I felt that I was like a kid. Hehe.

August 25, 2010 - We had a shopping at Langham Shopping Mall and Ladies' Market at Mongkok.

The One shopping mall was newly opened (May 2010) at that time.

August 26, 2010 - We experienced riding in a cable car: Ngong Ping 360 and walked up to the Giant Buddha.

August 27, 2010 - We went to HK Ocean Park!

August 28, 2010 - Our last day in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture more photos on that day because we're busy struggling on how to get back home. We weren't get lost at HK International Airport.

How about you? What happened on your debut? Share your experience.

One of my bucket list is to learn at least 3 languages. I'm talking about languages (read, write, speak) and not programming languages, which is my line of work. Haha. :)

Last July 2013 (4 years ago), I enrolled myself on a 40-hour Mandarin class. I studied Mandarin after my work (7 pm - 9 pm) every Tuesdays and Thursdays. Everything went well. I learned a lot from my classes but I wasn't able to practice or use it on my line of work. I didn't take another language class after due to my stressful work.

When I resigned from my work in Makati and decided to work in Alabang area, I decided to go back and learn new language. Last December 2015 (almost 2 years ago), I discovered an app that suits my interest. The app is named as "Duolingo". It is totally free but it offers in-app purchases.

Since I'm currently working in a French IT company, I started learning about French language. I'm not yet fluent to begin with but I can understand few words like "Bonjour", "Bon Appetit", "Femme", "Homme", etc. Here are some exercises that I did using Duolingo app:

My main goal is to practice once a day. I'm currently enrolled in French, Spanish and Japanese language courses.

You can follow me here: https://www.duolingo.com/ulyssaelaine

I'm planning to add more soon but I will focus first on the 3 languages mentioned.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I didn't own / code the app itself. I'm just sharing my own experience using this app.

How about you? Have you tried using the app? Do you also have an interest learning a new foreign language? Share your thoughts.

Hooray! It's Friday... 🎉
A post shared by Ulyssa Elaine (@ulyssaelaine) on Mar 2, 2017 at 8:30pm PST

I'm currently working as a Mobile App Developer in Ayala Alabang District for more than 2 years. I have shared to you guys my top picks restaurant around Alabang area: part 1 and part 2.  I will add more on that list on my next post.

Aside from my "restaurant hopping" experience around Alabang area, I will share to you guys my "clinic hopping" experience.

As I mentioned above, my work is not that easy. I'm working from Mondays to Fridays (9 am to 6pm). I'm facing a stressful situations at times but I'm happy with my work. Thanks God! :)

I decided to put all of my agenda(s) like shopping, watching movies, waxing (Laybare), check-ups (Tokyo HealthLink), and etc. near in my workplace so I can rest every weekends.

As I'm strolling around the mall (Alabang Town Center), I saw a derma clinic near Switch (Apple Authorized Store). I checked Skin 101's Instagram, Facebook and googled some reviews about the clinic. I'm very appeased with the reviews so I tried their service.

I availed the Buy 1 Take 1 Promo of Diamond Peel worth Php 1,000.00. What a good deal! If I will go to the other clinics, it would take a thousands of bucks for 2 sessions of Diamond Peel treatment, right?

I took a screenshot from their website about the Diamond Peel treatment:

I didn't capture some photos inside the cubicle for my own privacy as well. But if you are curious about it, you can check Skin 101's Instagram, Facebook and other blog reviews. I have tried Diamond Peel on other clinics (SM Dasma) but I can say that this clinic is one of the best clinics I ever tried. I love their service. They don't rush patients. I think they have a timer for every procedures that they do. (I heard some to-toot sound. haha.) They will tell the customer first before they put on some procedure on your face. Although the pricking moment was a bit ouchy, I'm happy that they cleaned my face so well (without the dirts and powder residue).

I'm done with the 2 sessions this month (August 2017) and I will avail more next month after my monthly period. I'm planning also to avail their Revlite service, which I will share to you once I've tried it. :)

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I used my own money when I availed their service. Thank you.

How about you? Where do you usually go for a derma? Share your experience.
