I am Ulyssa Elaine - Travel, Food and Lifestyle Blogger

I took Asiana Airlines during my trip to USA last December 2019 to January 2020. I bought the tickets a couple of months in advance. I was lucky that my dates fell during the winter season because I would like to experience a White Christmas.

Note: This review is for economy-class only.

» Asiana Airlines «

Asiana Airlines, headquartered in Seoul, is South Korea's second largest airlines. It is member of Star Alliance, the world's largest global airline alliance. Asiana Airlines is certified with 5-star airline rating for its quality.

» Asiana Airlines Philippines «

The ticketing office in the Philippines is located in Makati City.

Address:                    6F Salcedo Tower, 169, Dela Costa Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City
Website:                    https://flyasiana.com/C/PH/EN/index
Contact Number:

I didn't book online and went to their ticketing office to address my needs. The staffs were friendly and attentive.

» Baggage «

Those economy-class passengers travelling to USA are allowed to check-in two pieces of 23-kilo bags and hand-carry of one 10-kilo bag free of charge. For business-class passengers, two pieces of 32-kilo bags and hand-carry of two pieces of 10-kilo bag are allowed.

But for non-US routes, business-class passengers are still allowed to check-in two pieces of 32-kilo bags but for economy-class, only one 23-kilo bag is allowed to check-in.

» Check-In and Boarding «

Bring a print out of your electronic ticket itinerary and receipt because it may required to present it at the immigration and check-in counters.

The check-in was pretty fast as long as you have complete requirements. When I was in Manila, the check-in counter representatives paid attention to my special meal request. They were attentive and coordinated well on the cabin crews. They also asked if I have few concerns.

Note: You can also check-in online or through mobile app for faster transaction.

The boarding gates opened at the exact time and there were no delays.

» Seating «

It was my third time to fly with a 5-star airline. I love the seat configuration of Asiana Airlines on the economy class. During my Manila to Incheon flight, it was all 2-4-2 instead of 3-4-3 seat configuration. I didn't feel squished and I had plenty of leg and table space.

On my way to Seattle, Washington, the seat configuration for economy class was 3-4-3 but it was okay because it's not too tight.

» Temperature «

I didn't feel any dizzy at all on my roundtrip flights. It was warm and very comfortable. There were less turbulence, too. Thanks God! :)

» Customer Service and Food «

The customer service was great. The stewardess even helped me on securing my bag in the cabin. Before the airplane took off, they also asked me if I have few concerns.

I have few requests on my food and I often receive my food before the others. Not sure though if it's part of their protocols. I often receive Yeongyang Ssambap, their special menu.

» Entertainment «

The in-flight entertainment was great. There were lots of movies, music, games and even documentaries.

Asiana Airlines also have videos promoting on-board exercises. I tried the seat workouts and I felt better.

» Amenities «

Passengers travelling to the USA will receive a pouch with slippers and a toothbrush set. They also provide ear plugs and blanket.

But for my Manila to Incheon and Incheon to Manila flights, it wasn't provided but it's okay.

» Overall «

I was satisfied on my roundtrip flights and looking forward on my future travels with Asiana Airlines.

After the long drive from Snoqualmie Falls Park, my uncle dropped us (me and my aunt) off to T-Mobile Park in Seattle to witness the Enchant Christmas.

» Enchant Christmas Seattle «

Enchant Christmas is an annual magical light experience setup in 3 locations, (1) Seattle, Washington, (2) Washington D.C. and (3) St. Petersburg, Florida. The event dubs itself as the world's largest Christmas Light Maze and Market as to date.

For last year, Enchant Christmas Seattle was held at T-Mobile Park from November 22 to December 29, 2019.

» Admission «

The ticket pricing varies depending on the date you go. You can also opt to VIP access at a higher price. Kids 3 and below can get a free entry. There are also discounted prices for youth, senior and military.

Be sure to book online because the event usually sold out. Expect also huge crowds at the entrance so make sure to be there on time.

» The Experience «

According to TripAdvisor, it is one of the must visit in Seattle every December. I was thrilled that I experienced this kind of holiday magic trip. I had so much fun that I can't remember how many photos I took at that date.

Aside from the light maze, I saw an ice skating trail. Unfortunately, we didn't try it but it's okay.

I suggest to buy this light-up bulb glasses as memorabilia. :)

On a Sunday morning, my uncle and my aunt drove me to Seattle Premium Outlet. As I said on my previous post, the outlet is just a meters away from Tulalip Resort Casino.

Seattle Premium Outlets, owned by Simon Property Group, features an upscale collection of designer names such as Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Burberry, Fossil and more. The mall is located in Tulalip, Washington, approximately 30 minutes north of Seattle and two hours south of Vancouver, BC.

» My Experience «

Seattle Premium Outlet is a known premium outlet in the Pacific Northwest. Around holidays, they tend to go all out on discounts!

If you visit Seattle, you better try here to buy pasalubongs for your loved ones.

The ticket prices varies depending on the date and seat selection.

I took advantage of the BlackFriday sale and bought a seat on First Tier section, which costs USD 74 (inclusive of tax).

» The Experience «

Fast forward to the afternoon of December 23, 2019 at McCaw Hall. The lobby was filled with a huge Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations. I also saw The Nutcracker standees and merchandise.

As I claimed my ticket and watched the performance, I was fully captivated with the overall production. The whole production team were well-rehearsed. Even though I'm no longer a kid anymore, my heart was captivated with the magical story.

Frankly, it was my first time watching a ballet performance. After this, I'm looking forward to watch more ballet performances in the future.

After my roundtrip ride in Seattle Monorail, I walked for a few meters until I reached MoPOP. This was the last attraction that I redeemed from Seattle CityPASS.

Just a recap on the attractions that I redeemed from Seattle CityPASS: Argosy Harbor Cruise, Seattle Aquarium, Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass and lastly, Museum of Pop Culture.

Museum of Pop Culture, established in 2000 and founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, is a museum designed for contemporary music and science fiction.

» Admission «

Senior Rate (Ages 65+):   $25 (online price) / $27 (walk-in price)

Youth (Ages 5-12):
$19 (online price) / $21 (walk-in price)

Child (Ages 4 and below): Free

Military (with ID):             $22 (online price) / $24 (walk-in price)

» The Experience «

According to TripAdvisor, it is one of the must visit in Seattle. I attest to that! This museum is mind-blowing starting from its exterior architecture up to its interior. It has everything and pretty laid-out.

It's a great visit while the weather was gloomy outside. It's definitely a mood changer!!! I enjoyed my stay for 2 hours.

To make most of your visit, visit it early or at least 2-3 hours before the closing time (which I did).

» The Exhibits (Level 1) «

The entrance and the exit is located on the first floor. There's a huge staircase to access the second floor.

Hall of Fame

JBL Theater

» The Exhibits (Level 2) «

As you climbed the staircase, this massive sculpture entitled IF VI WAS IX: Roots and Branches can be seen. It is also visible on the third floor.

All galleries can be found on the second floor. The famous Sky Church and other museum stories can also be found here.

» The Exhibits (Level 3) «

I enjoyed my visit on Sound Lab because I got to hold different types of musical instruments such as electric guitar, etc.

Unfortunately, the admission on Minecraft: The Exhibition was not included on Seattle CityPASS. I also didn't buy one so I can't share it here.
